  9. 'Footloose' Album in Stores Today

    <span style=&quot;font-size: small;">Blake Shelton covers Kenny Loggins&rsquo; &ldquo;Footloose&rdquo; for the film&rsquo;s remake, which hits theaters October 14<sup>th</sup>. However, you can hear Blake&rsquo;s countrified version of the tune on the movie&rsquo;s soundtrack, which came out today. Although, he doesn&rsquo;t necessarily expect you to like it. &ldquo;And I expected it to be polarizing, ya know, whenever I signed up for it. But, that&rsquo;s, I&rsquo;m that guy, so who else to do that and piss people off than me? Ya know. [laughs]&rdquo; While the tune wasn&rsquo;t originally country, Blake points out that Kenny&rsquo;s version is very similar to what can be heard on country radio today.</span>

  11. McCreery's Story to Air

    <span style=&quot;font-size: small;">A film crew followed &lsquo;American Idol&rsquo; winner Scotty McCreery around when he returned home to small town Garner, N.C. last month to perform. That&rsquo;s because the singer will be the subject of a documentary set to air on GAC in October. According to the News Observer, McCreery played Raleigh&rsquo;s RBC Center on July 27, where the crew interviewed him for &lsquo;Introducing: Scotty McCreery,&rsquo; a biographical series about on-the-rise country stars (which McCreery undoubtedly is). The crew also toured the &lsquo;I Love You This Big&rsquo; singer&rsquo;s hometown the next day.</span>

  19. Nicole Kidman to Film in Nashville

    Keith Urban is happy that his wife Nicole Kidman won&rsquo;t be venturing far from home to film her next movie. &ldquo;<em>She&rsquo;s bringing a film here to Nashville, which is something she&rsquo;s been trying to do for a long time for so many reasons</em>,&rdquo; Keith tells the <em>Tennessean</em> newspaper. Keith cites two reasons for that decision, the first, he says is that it&rsquo;s &ldquo;<em>easier than having to uproot the kids</em>,&rdquo; and the second, he adds, &ldquo;<em>it&rsquo;s a great place for people to come and spend a couple of months shooting a film</em>.&rdquo; The film is called <em>Stoker</em> is about a teenager girl who has to deal with a mysterious uncle who arrives after her father&rsquo;s death. It is set for a 2012 release.

    You can grab your own copy of Trace Adkins&rsquo; latest big-screen acting role in <em>The Lincoln Lawyer</em>. The Matthew McConaughey crime thriller debuts on DVD and <em>Blu-Ray</em> today! Trace says fitting into the role of &ldquo;Eddie,&rdquo; the leader of a biker gang didn&rsquo;t exactly come natural for him.&nbsp; <em>&ldquo;I&rsquo;m not a trained actor; I&rsquo;m not Phillip Seymour Hoffman or Johnny Depp. I&rsquo;m not gonna do every character that comes along, I can&rsquo;t&hellip;a man&rsquo;s gotta know his limitations. But, this was a role that I thought I could do and it worked out.&rdquo;</em> Trace became friends with McConaughey while spending time with him on set during the shooting of the movie. Since <em>The Lincoln Lawyer</em>, Trace has accepted a role in an upcoming film adaptation of <em>The First Ride of Wyatt Earp</em> and has rumored to be taking the role of a judge in a movie called <em>Palominas</em>, according to <em>IMDB.com</em>.
