CASSOPOLIS - The Cassopolis football team is eager to build off a playoff appearance in 2011.

"We're talking about being mentally tough," coach Dan Purlee told WSBT sports.

"We've got some physical talent.  I know we've got some kids who can do some special things, but we want to instill mental toughness, and if there's adversity, make sure that we can bounce back and be mentally strong and battle through that adversity."

For the Rangers, success in 2012 begins up front with the offensive line, and a solid running game.

"We're going to do what we do best.  Run the football", Purlee says.

"Hopefully we can win some battles up front and control the line of scrimmage.  If we can do that, we'll have a lot of success."
