    Betty L. (McNutt) Carlson-Wendel, 87, Arbutus Park Manor, Johnstown, formerly of Boswell and Hollsopple, died Dec. 28, 2012 at the Manor. Born Dec. 16, 1925 in Jenner Township, daughter of John P. and Ethel N. (Shaffer) McNutt. Preceded in death by parents, first husband Gibson F. Carlson in 1982; second husband Donald P. Wendel in 1992; sister, Doris Jean Yoder and brothers-in-law Bill E. Yoder and Frederick C. Miller. Survived by children: Doris Elaine, married to Richard Beegle, Hollsopple; John P. &quot;Bud" Carlson and wife Mary Jeanne, Jensen Beach, Fla.; and Faye Carolle, married to Rick Patrick, Mechanicsburg; step-children: Donald Wendel and wife Valerie, Altoona; Kathy (Wendel), married to David Horvath, Tire Hill; and Paulette (Wendel) Tamm, W.Va; seven grandchildren: Scott Beegle, Hollsopple; Lance Beegle and wife Jennifer, Elkton, Va.; Dawn (Carlson) LeTendre, Fla.; Colin Carlson and wife Jennifer, Chepachet, R.I.; Marc Carlson and wife Amy, Smithfield, R.I.; Betsey (Patrick) married to Corey Norrell, Carlisle; and Kevin Patrick and wife M. Carolina, Minot AFB, N.D.; step-grandchildren Adrienne Horvath and Amanda Tamm; 14 great-grandchildren and sister Faye E. Miller, Somerset. A graduate of Boswell High School. She was a retired seamstress with 41 years of service for Dorfman &amp; Hoffman Garment Factory, Boswell. Member of ILGWU and Hopewell United Methodist Church, Hollsopple. Betty enjoyed making crafts and sewing. Viewing from 11 a.m. until time of service at 1 p.m. Wednesday at <strong>Hoffman Funeral Home &amp; Cremation Services, 409 Main St., Boswell </strong>with Pastor Michael A. Dunlap presiding. Interment, Somerset County Memorial Park.
