7. Are Republican politicians the only people who drink and drive, or just the only ones The Sun writes about?

Full disclosure: I don't know Baltimore County Councilman Todd Huff, nor am I affiliated with him in any way. But a charge of driving under the influence is serious under any circumstances ("Council member faces DUI charge," Feb. 24).

  9. Feral cats can be managed

In his recent commentary, George Fenwick calls cats "invasive" and "not part of the natural environment," blaming cats for billions of bird and rodent deaths ("The destructive invasive species purring on your lap," Feb. 26). He claims that trap, neuter, return (TNR) programs are a failed strategy and asks for local governments to gather millions of unowned cats and "euthanize" those for which homes cannot be found. Sadly, his claims are not based on facts.

  15. Inauguration was great, the singing, not so much

Watching the inauguration of President Barack Obama filled me with enthusiasm for the next four years. My only disappointment was the singers chosen to sing our patriotic songs ("History revisited," Jan. 22). Why do these young singers have to spoil our...

  17. After years of using media rate, looks like columnist no longer rates with the postal service

I recently had an unnerving experience at a post office. I hasten to add that it did not occur at the Roland Park Post Office, our home branch, where we walk daily to pick up mail. On Saturday errands, I stopped at another post office to mail some...
