  9. Ruth Elaine Decker, 59, of Garrett,

    Ruth Elaine Decker, 59, of Garrett, passed away on Wednesday, May 22, 2013, at her home. Born March 10, 1954, in Garrett, Mrs. Decker was the daughter of Jean (Yutzy) Decker, Garrett, and the late Elwood Decker. Besides her mother, Ruth is survived by her sons: Gregory Shaffer and wife, Grace, Boynton; and Matthew Shaffer and wife, Lindsay, New Centerville; and her stepdaughters: Cheryl Benson, Altoona; Sherry Fogal, Three Springs; and Bobbie Jo Cochenour of West Virginia. She also leaves behind her sister: Rose Augustine, Berlin; her brother: Rick Decker, Garrett; her grandchildren: Daniel, Kimberly, Candice, Logan, Wyatt, Dawson, Matlyn, Alexis, Noah, Tommy, and Sienna; as well as many beloved nieces and nephews. Ruth was a retired youth counselor with Vision Quest. She was a member of the LighthouseWorship Center, Grantsville, Md. Mom’s life revolved around her family and her church. Friends will be received from 12 to 8 p.m. Friday  at the Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur Street, Cumberland, Md, (www.AdamsFamilyFuneralHome.com) A funeral service will be conducted at the Lighthouse Worship Center 11 a.m. Saturday,  with the Rev. Sharon Colisino officiating. The family will also receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.Interment will be in Center Church Cemetery. Do you not know?  Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.

  13. Ella Mae Etling, 82, of Meyersdale

    Ella Mae Etling, 82, of Meyersdale, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 19, 2013 in the Western Regional Medical Center, Cumberland, Md. She was born Dec. 14, 1930 in Connellsville a daughter of the late Edward and Ina Evelyn Haile Lewis. Mrs. Etling was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Naomi Chapter 12 and the Meyersdale Church of the Brethren. She is survived by four children, Edward Mulnix and his wife Vickie of Meyersdale, James Mulnix and his wife Kathy of White, Sandra Baer and her husband Richard of Meyersdale and Kimberly Schaefer and her husband George of Grafton, W.Va.; 12 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren and one sister Evelyn Nicholson and her husband Homer of Normalville; brother-in-law Wayne Etling and a cousin and close friend Barbara Whittaker. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband John G. Etling in 2007; two brothers David and Robert Lewis; sister-in-law Delores Etling; niece Mary Ann Etling and nephew David Etling. Friends will be received from 2 to 4, 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in the Brooks Funeral Home, Inc., 111 E. Green St., Connellsville, where services will be held on Thursday at 1 p.m. with Pastor Pete Kaltenbaugh and Pastor Eddie Martin officiating. Interment will follow in Mt.
