  1. Community Mourns Loss of Waxahachie Police Officer

    A seventeen-year veteran of the Waxahachie Police Department died in an on-duty accident early Saturday morning.  Police Chief Chuck Edge says Officer Josh Williams, was responding to a disturbance call at the 600 block of North Highway 77 just before 12:30  this morning.  That's when an SUV driven by 24-year-old Dylyn Richards slammed into the side of his patrol car.  Williams, who was the passenger, was taken to Baylor Hospital in Waxahachie where he was pronounced dead.  Richards was taken to Dallas' Parkland Hospital where he is currently in police custody.
