  3. IHSAA committee approves proposal to add sixth football class

The IHSAA Executive Committee approved a portion of an Indiana Football Coaches Association (IFCA) proposal in adding a sixth classification to the football state tournament beginning in 2013-14. The Committee also voted in favor of a two-year tournament success factor in each team sport (baseball, basketball, football, soccer, softball volleyball), an accumulation of points by which any school would move up one class based on tournament series performance during that time.

  11. Class 2A Preview: Park Tudor looks for back-to-back championships against Bowman Academy

Park Tudor Head Coach Ed Schilling has become a bit of an IHSAA historian as of late. To keep his defending 2011 IHSAA Class 2A State champions motivated, he's given speeches about leaving a lasting legacy, both at Park Tudor High School and throughout Indiana. For example, Schilling has made it a point to make sure his Panthers knew that if they were to advance to Saturday's State championship game, they would be joining the Crispus Attucks, Marion, Lawrence North, Pike, Lafayette Central Catholic, and Franklin as the only teams to play in three State championship games.

  16. Class 4A Preview: Local schools Pike and Carmel compete in heavyweight battle

For the four Carmel Greyhounds seniors lacing up their sneakers Saturday night at Bankers Life Fieldhouse, the journey had to have been tough. Just two seasons ago, the program in which they had played for and represented had a name that was practically brought through hell and back. As juniors, they had to get used to life after the incident, finishing 10-13 under new Head Coach Scott Heady as their former Head Coach Mark Galloway led Culver Academies to the Class 3A IHSAA State championship game.

Ever since he committed to play for Indiana University, the world of basketball in the state of Indiana has practically had all eyes on Park Tudor Senior Yogi Ferrell. Practically every game he has played has been written about, blogged about, chatted about across the internet, or even had television highlights show on television. Yet here Ferrell was, celebrating the pinnacle of his high school career, cutting down the championship net in his final game in a Park Tudor uniform when something strange happened. When the net came undone, Ferrell turned with his arms out to hear the crowd roar, and well, nobody was there.
