1. Faith Splits From "Sunday Night Football"

<span style="font-size: small;">Faith Hill has been the voice that opens NBC’s ‘Sunday Night Football’ for six years, but the singer announced that she will no longer be singing the opening song to the NFL broadcast. “Amazing 2 have been part of SNF – an honor,” Hill posted to her Facebook and Twitter accounts. “I’ve just let everyone there know it’s time 2 let someone else rock the open. Difficult decision. Kinda emotional. Love all u guys at SNF – I’ll b watching!!!” Hill’s rendition of ‘Waiting All Day for Sunday Night’ was used kicked off every Sunday night NFL game. Hill originally recorded the song — which is musically based on the Joan Jett classic ‘I Hate Myself for Loving You’ — in 2007, taking over from pop singer Pink. So far there is no word on who will be next in line to do the honors. But Hill’s relationship with the NFL goes back much further than 2007, according to Boot. In 1999 she sang the national anthem at the very first Tennessee Titans game at their newly-built stadium in Nashville, and followed that up by singing the national anthem at the Super Bowl in 2000.

  21. Steven Tyler National Anthem: Star Sings At AFC Championship Game

<a class="runtimeTopic" href="#">Steven Tyler sang the National Anthem at Sunday's AFC Championship game. It probably wasn't his best work. The Aerosmith frontman struggled a bit throughout his pre-game rendition of "The Star Spangled Banner," singing with a raspier-than-normal voice through Francis Scott Key's iconic patriotic tune. He had trouble hitting the signature high note, which is a far cry from his heralded days leading one of the biggest bands of the 70s and 80s. As a judge on "American Idol," who decides if singers have the chops to make it big, the performance probably won't do him any favors when it comes to handing down the fate of aspiring artists. The rendition didn't hurt his hometown team, though; the New England Patriots advanced to the Super Bowl with a 23-20 win over the Baltimore Ravens.
