7. Narrower goal posts could add intrigue to NFL games

The NFL would be so much more interesting if it were narrow-minded.
The NFL would be so much more interesting if it were narrow-minded. By that I mean the league should narrow the uprights. With kickers steadily improving — they're on pace for their most accurate season — the league should consider...

9. Chiefs' Tamba Hali says Ray Rice "talks a lot of trash"

Despite his 5-foot-8 frame, easygoing nature and ear-to-ear smile, Ray Rice is widely regarded as one of the toughest players in the NFL. And according to one Kansas City Chiefs player, the Ravens running back is also one of the most talkative. Outside...

11. Coffee Companion (10/18): your daily Ravens fix

Every morning, Monday through Friday, blogger Matt Vensel will hook you up with reading material -- mostly on the Ravens but with some other Baltimore sports stuff, too -- to skim through as you slug down coffee and slack off at the start of your workday. That way he’ll have an excuse to do the same to start his workday, too.

NEW ORLEANS -- For New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees, the first four losses of the season had been an unmitigated disaster. But at least for one night, the future Hall of Famer was once again on top of the NFL world.

There is a lot of hype going into this game with Drew Brees having the chance to break the record for consecutive games with a touchdown pass. What are your thoughts on him being able to do that and how you think he’s grown as a quarterback since the two of you were teammates?

Opening Statement: “(It’s a) tough place to play in Green Bay at Lambeau Field. I almost think if you win that game it should count as two wins. I know you have visited with Aaron (Kromer) already today and he talked a little about that. Having said that, I am disappointed that defensively we weren’t able to limit them to one less touchdown. That’s really the way I wrap it up. The one that sticks out is the second quarter drive where it began on the eight yard line and we did have them stopped but they had the fake punt and got it back. Then we had two penalties after that that kept the ball going for them - a face mask and a holding. Anytime you give a good football team extra yards with penalties that hurts.
