  7. Looking at defenders recently drafted by the Ravens

The numbers aren’t pretty. Through six games, the Ravens are allowing nearly 400 total yards per game and rank near the bottom of the league in a handful of major categories. Sure, they have given up 19.7 points per game, 11th in the NFL, which partially explains why the Ravens are 5-1. But things have been so rough for the defense these past two games, that no one has used their ranking in scoring defense as a crutch this week.

  9. Looking back at the 2009 Ravens draft class

The Ravens are the only team to have made the playoffs in each of the past four seasons. That’s a credit to G.M. Ozzie Newsome, who has given coach John Harbaugh enough talent to mold this team into a contender.

  13. Ravens' bubble players looking to earn spot by playing well Thursday

When Anthony Allen dropped a pass from Tyrod Taylor in the end zone late in the fourth quarter of the Ravens' preseason game against the Washington Redskins, the rookie running back was worried that he had also dropped an opportunity to cement a spot on the team.

Instead of solidifying his spot as the Ravens' backup quarterback, Tyrod Taylor added another question mark to the situation in the Ravens' preseason finale.

  17. Seven Points: Baltimore Ravens 21, Atlanta Falcons 7

As if a fourth preseason game that featured few Ravens starters couldn't get less compelling, any intrigue for this one was sent to the locker room midway through the first quarter when rookie quarterback Tyrod Taylor injured his shoulder. That denied Taylor one last opportunity to try to secure the backup spot behind Joe Flacco, who did not play Thursday. It also made it tough for us to evaluate the Ravens' young receivers.
