1. Chuck Pagano pulls a Colts switch on a Steelers fan

ANDERSON - The eyes of a Raven never fail-even when they've traded in the purple.
ANDERSON - The eyes of a Raven never fail-even when they've traded in the purple. It might be while the sight of black and yellow immediately put up a red flag for Colts safety Tom Zbikowski. "Zibbie saw it and said 'Coach, we've got to do something...

5. Handing out superlatives for this Ravens draft class

Now that I have had a couple of days to defragment my brain after a hectic NFL draft weekend, I figured I would hand out superlative style-evaluations of the Ravens’ eight-player draft class. These are just the opinions of one man (though it’s a man who spent much of the past two months researching draft prospects). Feel free to leave your assessments or reactions to mine in the comments section below.

9. Finding a pass rusher is key for the Ravens

Terrell Suggs took down a quarterback 14 times in 2011 as the Ravens ranked near the top of the NFL in most major defensive categories. The 2011 NFL Defensive Player of the Year wasn't exactly flying solo as he reached a career-high in sacks, but whenever opponents shut him down , as was the case in the final month of the season, the defense was merely good.

13. Marshal Yanda and the brutal, beautiful, violent game of football

We've spent a lot of time this year talking about how the NFL seems to be trying to tone down the brutality in football. For the most part, their efforts seem less sincere and more like public relations, because the rules -- which Roger Goodell appears to make up as he goes along -- are enforced in such an arbitrary way, no one seems to know why some hits are deemed illegal while others are celebrated.
