5. 3 questions with Ravens right guard Marshal Yanda

The Ravens did an admirable job keeping quarterback Joe Flacco upright in last week's 31-29 win against the Dallas Cowboys, surrendering just one sack to outside linebacker DeMarcus Ware. But the guys in front of Flacco may face their toughest test this Sunday when they face the Houston Texans and defensive end J.J. Watt. The second-year pro leads the NFL in sacks with 9½ and has added 15 quarterback hits and 16 tackles for losses. Starting right guard Marshal Yanda discussed Watt's ability, which includes a knack for knocking down passes at the line of scrimmage.

  7. Jeff Zrebiec's scouting report: Ravens vs. Texans

RAVENS PASSING GAME: Quarterback Joe Flacco has had a solid season, but he's struggled in the Ravens' two road games, continuing a trend from last season. He has one touchdown, two interceptions, a 50.7 completion percentage and he's been sacked six times. He has had good success against Houston with four touchdowns and one interception in three games. His offensive line, which held its own against DeMarcus Ware last week, will have its hands full versus a young and quick front.

  9. Ravens news, notes and opinions

You’ve probably seen this by now but it’s worth reiterating. By virtue of the Denver Broncos’ comeback victory last night against the San Diego Chargers, only two of the AFC’s 16 teams will enter Week Seven with a winning record. Those teams – the Ravens and Houston Texans – play each other on Sunday at Reliant Stadium. What does that mean in the grand scheme of things? Well for one, there is a whole lot of mediocrity right now in the AFC and that might be understating it. Two, as bad as things appear right now for the Ravens with the defensive struggles and the injuries, they have managed to avoid the pitfalls that have hit their AFC rivals and they’re in ideal position in the standings. That’s probably worth keeping in mind with all the gloom-and-doom that you’re sure to be hearing and seeing this week.
