    The senior forward led the Eagles (10-5) to the championship at last week's Benedictine Capital City Classic in Richmond, Va., totaling 64 points and 40 rebounds in three close wins. Locke, an All-Metro second-team selection last year, registered doubIe-doubles in each win. In the tournament opener on Dec. 27, a 60-57 win over Virginia's Christ Church School, Locke finished with 20 points and 15 rebounds. The following day, he poured in 27 points to go with 13 rebounds to send the Eagles to the title game with a 53-48 win over Good Counsel. In Thursday's final, Locke had 17 points and 12 rebounds in a 61-58 overtime win against host school Benedictine College Prep to claim tournament Most Valuable Player honors. Powerful and agile at 6-feet-5 and 255 pounds, Locke is averaging 24.5 points and 12.5 rebounds this season and he's 379 points away from 2,000 for his four-year career. Locke has a number of college offers, but he is still undecided.

  15. Boys Athlete of the Week: Taran Carr, Owings Mills, wrestling

    The 160-pound senior won all seven of his matches to lead the Eagles to a second-place finish at the two-day Bauerlein Duals this weekend at Manchester Valley. A Class 2A-1A state champion in the 145-pound class last year, the four-year starter has dominated at 160 this year, going 12-0 with 12 pins. Owings Mills finished second in the tournament with a 6-1 mark &#8212; Urbana from Frederick County was first with a 7-0 mark. Carr, a team captain, is 121-16 in his high school career. Maintaining a 3.65 GPA, he is undecided on a college but plans to wrestle at the next level. Carr also is a member of the school's band.
