  1. 'Sinister'

Have you heard the one about the writer who moves to the scene of a crime to research a book on it? A familiar premise gets another workout in this melodrama, which benefits from the committed acting of a cast led by Ethan Hawke and the genre experience of director and co-writer Scott Derrickson ("The Exorcism of Emily Rose").

  9. Blu-ray Review: A bit of a 'Titanic' waste

There are literally dozens of movies about the Titanic; this 1953 Hollywood version is one of the three best-known (the other two being Roy Ward Baker's “A Night to Remember” and James Cameron's modest little 1997 chamber drama). Barbara Stanwyck and Clifton Webb are the central pair, with Robert Wagner and Audrey Dalton representing young love.
