  1. Crazy about coupons!

My best coupon finds are in the local newspaper because I have the paper delivered right to my front door; it doesn't get any easier than that.
My least favorite coupon source is the Internet because many sites make you fill out surveys and that seems like more work than what it's worth.
My friends and I trade coupons; for example, I use Pampers and my friend uses Huggies. We need to look out for each other especially in this economy.-- <b>Cathy Billman of Newport News</b>

  5. Atlantic City, New Jersey

<b>Go here:</b> This waterfront city features a slew of attractions, the most popular of which are indoors. We're talking about casinos, casinos, casinos. But there's been a concerted effort over the past few years to expand Atlantic City's attractions beyond the gaming resorts. The Borgata Hotel, a luxury casino resort and entertainment venue, opened five years ago, launching what was heralded as the city'srenaissance. Since then, more upscale and fashionable hotels, like <a href=&quot;http://www.thechelsea-ac.com/index.php">the Chelsea</a> and the Water Club, have joined in. Some of the vintage attractions, like taking a rolling chair down the Atlantic City Boardwalk, remain popular, and the boardwalk is still where you'll find arcades, museums, shopping and, of course, saltwater taffy. And if you're looking for a free and fun day outdoors, there's always the beach. But today, Atlantic City is testing the waters of high-flying style and a return to elegance.

    Los Angeles Times Staff Writer
Midway between San Diego and Columbus, Ohio, on Skybus Flight 241, attendant Olivia Champ had had enough of "the $10 question." Yes, there were people who had paid only $10 for a seat on the July 16 flight, she announced to the cabin. And for those who...

  11. Grocery bargains often in stock at alternative stores

Supermarkets aren't the only places to make supermarket-type purchases, such as food, personal-care items and household supplies. Alternative stores, such as large discounters, dollar stores and warehouse clubs, can offer better deals, depending on who...

  17. This season, Santa's shopping locally

A songwriter friend of mine once observed that some people can walk around the block and see the whole world while others can go around the world and not see a thing. Food can work the same way. With the current availability of almost anything from almost anywhere, thanks to the Internet, it's sometimes easy to lose sight of the great products we have right here in Southern California.
