21. Torn between two popes?

Some predicted the meeting between newly-elected Pope Francis I and his predecessor, Benedict XVI, would be awkward. After all, the Roman Catholic Church hasn’t had a pope resign in 600 years. What would the two men say to each other? Would Benedict tell Pope Francis what he should and shouldn’t be doing? Would the former pope be looking over the new pope’s shoulder? And would the new pope feel threatened, even resentful?

  23. The Pope Retires

Pope Benedict XVI has unexpectedly resigned, citing “advanced age” as the reason. Benedict, who is 85 years old, is the first Pope to retire in nearly 600 years. He blamed his deteriorating body and mind for the decision, leading many to believe that the Pope has a newly-developed medical condition such as Alzheimer’s or dementia. The Vatican promises to have a new Pope in place by Easter. No word on whether we’ll have a substitute Pope for 2 months, or if Lent will be canceled. <a href="http://www.cnn.com/2013/02/11/world/europe/pope-benedict-resignation/index.html?hpt=hp_t1" target="_blank">From CNN:
