  1. Obama enjoys a party, just not with Congress

Jan. 23 (Bloomberg) - One criticism of the president that permeated the nonstop socializing around the inauguration was that a lack of socializing by Barack Obama is to blame for much of the partisan rancor crippling Washington. If the president would...

  9. Chan Lowe: Women in combat

I am an American male who has never served in the military, which makes me at least as qualified to opine on the subject of women in combat as most of the politicians who are bloviating about it. The nearest I came to combat was when I had the misfortune of being a member of the first college class from which President Nixon yanked the student deferment. The fact that I had nowhere to hide from the draft makes me even more of a patriot and hero, I think, than former Vice President Dick Cheney and some of his chicken-hawk neocon associates who are slightly older than I.

Wikipedia is the encyclopedia anyone can write and edit (yes, even you!), but most people don't think much about who performs those tasks. With half a billion people around the world relying on Wikipedia for information, we should.

  15. Smear a bagel, not Chuck Hagel

OK, I want to admit right up front: I stole that headline. No, it's not original with me. I stole it from the pro-Israel, pro-peace organization J Street. I stole it because it's funny. And because it perfectly sums up the phony, trumped-up campaign against Chuck Hagel for secretary of defense.
