13. Memorial Day restoration should forsake three-day weekends

The primary purpose of Memorial Day is no longer to honor Americans killed in battle while serving their country. It's to cater to clucks who want a three-day weekend to better facilitate fun.

  15. Sequester cuts hurt, but slashing waste shouldn't be hard

Matt Poorman walked into DeSales' Billera Hall last fall, sat on a chair and watched practice. He repeated it for every practice and every game during the Bulldogs' 2011-12 season. It was torture, but it was all the 6-foot-5 guard from Stroudsburg...

  21. Signs would signal new traffic light ahead on Route 100

Q: I was wondering if there were plans to post signs or some type of signal cautioning drivers of the new traffic signal ahead on Route 100 south when approaching the Kernsville/Claussville roads intersection. The signal was in 'flash' mode for a while, but switched to the normal stop/go function Nov. 29. A temporary sign on 100 south alerts drivers of the new traffic pattern ahead, but I still was surprised when I came upon the fully operational signal. Many drivers pass when going up the hill, cutting off others in the course of merging back into one lane before the intersection. Adding stopped traffic to that area when the light is red will definitely make for an interesting commute.
