5. Letter to the Editor: July 2, 2012

Mr. Steve Devary recently sent in a letter expressing his dismay at Ben Chandler for joining with the Republicans and 15 or so other Democrats in voting to hold Eric Holder in contempt of Congress. He ended by asking for other views on this matter. Well, since he asked. That is one of the few things that Chandler ever did that I agree with. I too love this country, keep myself informed and loathe the divisions that are tearing this country apart. It seems to me that we are in another Cold War, not with Russia this time, but ourselves. The liberal view and the conservative view have become so polarized that nothing is being accomplished in the Federal Government.

  19. Redistricting mess befuddles representation

    Journal columnist

  23. Parksville still rebounding from 2009 ice storm

PARKSVILLE — Howard Johnston had to fight a crowd to pay his water bill Monday morning at the Parksville Water District office.
