3. Rep. Schwartz on national stage, if only for a moment

U.S. Rep. Allyson Schwartz joked Tuesday afternoon that her convention remarks wouldn't be unlike the "one-minute" speeches lawmakers give on the House floor, except this time with a few more viewers than the typical C-SPAN junkies.

  5. Reaction to Voter ID law being upheld

Efforts by civil rights groups to block Pennsylvania's controversial voter ID law failed Wednesday when a judge ruled that there wasn't enough evidence to declare it unconstitutional. The decision evoked across the board reaction from Barack Obama's campaign to members of Congress to both state party chairmen.

  11. 2010 health care law upheld, Pennsylvania politicians react

One man wore a Barack Obama mask and doctor's scrubs and held a sign that said, "Thank You for Subsidizing my Poor Life Choices." Tea Party faithful, flanked by massive yellow "Don't Tread on Me" flags sang, "Let's have a party, a Constitution party." Others supporting single payer health care wore surgical masks with "Silent Majority" written over their mouths and walked to and fro with belly dancers in full red and sparkling costumes. Supporters of the law danced in a circle to a soundtrack that included Stevie Wonder's "Signed, Sealed, Delivered."

  13. Pennsylvania lawmakers use slightly higher diction than their peers

Of late, the hallways of Congress have felt less like a revered 200-year-old political institution and more like the inside of a high school with divided cliques and petty fights. But its not just how lawmakers act that mirrors something out of a CW teen drama, but the level of discourse has also devolved.

  17. Obama campaign courting women voters

When Pennsylvania Republican Gov. Tom Corbett repeated this week his suggestion that women could opt not to watch the ultrasound screen if the procedure became mandatory for all pregnant women, the Democrats pounced. The Obama campaign quickly sought to tie Corbett's comments to Mitt Romney.
