  1. $350 Steak!

<span style=&quot;font-size: small;">A New York steakhouse is offering a 12-ounce cut of real Japanese Kobe beef, which just recently became available in the United States, for $350. Marc Sherry, co-owner of the Old Homestead steakhouse in the Meatpacking District, said many customers have already paid the hefty sum &ndash; with some offering several times the price &ndash; to reserve a steak. &ldquo; It&rsquo;s the most delicate, decadent beef in the world,&rdquo; Sherry said. &ldquo; It&rsquo;s like having July 4th in your mouth &ndash; there is an explosion of flavors.&rdquo;</span>

  7. Lighting the way

Grilling books are getting a bit much these days, aren't they? Either you're commanded to build a veritable pyre to sear your steak, preferably on a Patagonian plain, or you must search out a whole hog whose bloodlines are bluer than yours, or you have to rassle almost to the death all those barbecue purists trying to slap that jarred sauce out of your hands.

Eggs and ground beef don't commingle constructively in many cases, but where they really shine is at their simplest: A fried egg laid on top of a ground beef patty.
