13. Restaurant review: Time stands still at George's Light Lunch

In 1950, a newspaper cost about a nickel and a loaf of bread 14 cents. The first credit card was established that year, along with Bethlehem’s George’s Light Lunch. For more than a half century, this small eatery has been dishing out its lunch-style, fast-food fare.

  21. Jonathan Gold | L.A. restaurant review: Corazón y Miel satisfies heart's desires

"Corazón y miel," your waitress wants it to be known, is the signature dish of Corazón y Miel. Corazón y miel, hearts and honey, is a small bowl of warm, seared chicken hearts in a sweet, honeyed vinaigrette, tossed with a few slivers of onion, like a chicken heart escabeche. The grayish hearts look a little gnarly, organy, probably more than you want to be dealing with before your third margarita.

  23. What's new to eat at the ballparks?

At Wrigley: Every season Levy Restaurants, which handles the concessions at Wrigley Field, manages to come up with a few new food items for fans to try. You may have to search a bit for these new items, some of which are available in only one or two spots in the park. The most inventive, if somewhat impractical, newcomer is the Chicken and Waffle Stix, which jams two waffles and three pieces of fried chicken (boneless) on a skewer; it comes with an open cup of bacon-maple dipping sauce and is a challenge to eat neatly; price is $10, or $13.25 if you include the cost of dry-cleaning my sweater.
