  7. Food quest: Clybourn Avenue

The Clybourn Corridor, aka the Forever 21-Apple Store-Whole Foods Triangle, is poised to become even more retail-licious in the coming year. Target, Nordstrom Rack, Sephora, Anthropologie and others have plans to move in soon, and all those shopping sprees are going to require some sustenance. Next time you find yourself running errands down this dense strip, save room on your credit cards for bites at these old standbys and new-to-the-'hood eateries, located further north along Clybourn closer to Fullerton Avenue.

  13. Q&A: 'Ruby Sparks' star/writer Zoe Kazan

Some have asked Zoe Kazan why “Ruby Sparks,” a comedy/drama about a male author who considers if and how to change a character he writes and then comes to life as his real girlfriend, doesn’t feature a female writer controlling a man.

  15. A steak deal, just like in olden days

Seven dollars and 99 cents doesn't stretch like it used to, but it still buys a steak dinner downtown. On the northeast corner of the Thompson Center, beneath "L" tracks that rumble and screech every other minute, Ronny's endures. Trendier steakhouses on Rush Street have become a business account expenditure and once-a-year occasion. Ronny's, meanwhile, may be the one steakhouse in the city that lists prices on its window.
