  3. New Documentary Showcases the Spiritual Lives of the Zulu in South Africa

Director Roger Ingraham, along with two additional Stafford Springs residents and an international team of seekers, traveled to South Africa to document — and perhaps absorb — the spiritual lives of the Zulu. The resulting documentary, "The Calling," will be screened on Dec. 8 at the Palace Theater in Stafford, shortly before the filmmakers ship it off to various festivals. The opening — the first film shown at the Palace in 52 years — will be feted with live music, a Q&A with the director and his team, and probably popcorn. All ages welcome.

THEATER REVIEW: "War Horse" at the Cadillac Palace Theatre ★★★★ ... Joey, the stunning puppet horse whose flanks appear to breathe, pulse and sweat before your eyes, seemed to fill the entire stage.
