1. Valley's Erin McDermott is an American original

Lehigh Valley Music
Erin McDermott tells stories when she sings — stories about small towns, traveling, lost love or anything else that fits into her imaginative tapestry of rural Americana. Those tales fill her CD "Time To Go," released in 2011, and you can hear...

3. Bronze Radio Return hits static for Musikfest Cafe show

Lehigh Valley Music
Maybe the attention to Mumford & Sons and Avett Brothers have set the bar too high for acts that do Americana/folk/roots rock. Or maybe Bronze Radio Return was lagged by having just returned from a cruise, as vocalist Chris Henderson......

5. Concert review: Jason Aldean at Amway Center

Soundboard Music Blog - Orlando Sentinel
In the good old days, country music stars were content to imitate the Eagles or Lynyrd Skynyrd – accessorized by a big cowboy hat, of course. That’s no longer enough, as singer Jason Aldean proved with his rap-injected hit “Dirt Road...

11. Talking with Theory of a Deadman: Move toward pop has made band popular

Lehigh Valley Music
If Canadian rock band Theory of a Deadman’s most recent albums sound as if they’re moving the band closer and closer to a pop sound, so be it, says singer/frontman Tyler Connolly. That’s just the evolution of the group. These......

15. Norfolk's Discovery concert series to return with Pokey LaFarge, Magic Slim, Cowboy Junkies

Norfolk's Discovery Music Series has been importing high-quality, slightly-under-the-radar acts for years now. It's great to see that the series is still alive and kicking. Staff members announced the fall 2011-winter 2012 shows this week. As has been the practice over the years, Discovery offers two parallel channels. A blues series will present acts ranging from young upstart Pokey LaFarge to tried-and-true veteran Magic Slim. An indie series will star quiet-rock pioneers Cowboy Junkies as well as former Men at Work frontman Colin Hay.
