    <span style=&quot;font-size: small;">The new season of American Idol is off to find the next winner, to land on Forbes new list of top-earning contestants. The show&rsquo;s first-ever winner, Kelly Clarkson, claimed the top spot, after bringing in $8 million between May 2011 to May 2012. Carrie Underwood shares the #2 spot with rocker Chris Daughtry, as they both brought in $5 million. Scotty McCreery has the third-highest Idol paycheck with $4 million, while Jennifer Hudson and Jordin Sparks round out the Top 5 biggest money makers, with $3 million and $2 million, respectively. Also earning impressive cuts - Adam Lambert ($1.5 million), Katharine McPhee and Kellie Pickler ($1.1 million each) and David Archuleta and David Cook ($1 million each). Season 12 of Idol airs Wednesdays and Thursdays on FOX.</span>

  2. Scotty McCreery Performs at Christmas in Washington

    Scotty McCreery recently had the honor of singing a holiday classic for the President and the First Lady, during the Christmas in Washington special. The holiday tradition benefits the Children&rsquo;s National Medical Center, and Scotty joined Demi Lovato, Megan Hilty and Diana Ross for the annual event. Scotty admits that when it comes to holiday traditions, Christmas decorations are a must-have in his house! &ldquo;It&rsquo;s definitely our favorite time of the year as a family. Just getting around and celebrating the reason for the season &ndash; and seeing family. I think last year it was 14 Christmas trees we had at our house. So yeah, we get into it over there at the McCreery household.&rdquo; Christmas In Washington 2012 was held at the National Building Museum, on December 9th in Washington D.C.   3. Phillip Phillips Is The New American Idol

    <span style=&quot;font-size: small;">Phillip Phillips is the season 11 winner of American Idol. The final show aired on FOX, Tuesday night live in L-A and featured performances from Reba McEntire, Neil Diamond and more. Phillip sang the song &ldquo;Home&rdquo; as his winning tune for Idol, Phillip was too choked up to finish singing the song. A record-setting 132-million people cast their votes to decide who won this year&rsquo;s contest. Season five Idol competitor Ace Young proposed to Diana DeGarmo onstage at the Idol finale. Diana was a runner-up on season three of Idol. The pair met in the spring of 2010, when they both were cast inBroadway&rsquo;s revival of Hair. Carrie Underwood and her husband were there to cheer on the finalists.   7. 'American Idol': Hot nights in Georgia

    American Idolkicked off its 11th season Wednesday in Southern style. And the year's first audition show, shot in Savannah, Ga., had enough characters to populate a Tennessee Williams play. There was Amy Brumfield, a 24-year-old from Gatlinburg, Tenn., who lives in a tent. Gabi Carrubba, a 16-year-old tap-dancing champion. NBA dancer Brittany Kerr. Eric Nowak from Buffalo, N.Y., convinced that Steven Tyler is her future ex-husband. Shaun Kraisman, who's convinced he's Ryan Seacrest -- and a good enough mimic to convince just about everybody else. (Fine, let Ryan go to the Today show.) And there's diminutive 17-year-old David Leathers Jr., better known to his friends as Mr. Steal Your Girl, who actually competed in a singing contest with Scotty McCreery two years ago. David hinted that he beat Scotty that night, but I'm not sure I believe him, good as his Michael Jackson-like versions of Remember the Rain and Never Can Say Goodbye were. Who will people still be talking about once the Hollywood rounds hit? Maybe Shannon Magrane, the 15-year-old daughter of former St. Louis Cardinals pitcher Joe Magrane. Maybe Schyler and Colton Dixon, who returned from last season -- though the judges had to drag 19-year-old Colton, who barely missed out on the semifinals last season, back into the mix against his will. But they'll definitely remember Phillip Phillips, a Georgia boy, named after his daddy, who has a country-fried accent and sings Stevie Wonder and Michael Jackson like you wouldn't believe. All in all, 42 contestants from Savannah got golden tickets. And the ones we saw showed a lot of promise.

Scotty&rsquo;s <em>Clear As Day</em> comes out on October 4<sup>th</sup> while Lauren&rsquo;s debut, <em>Wildflower</em> hits stores one week later on October 11<sup>th</sup>. Scotty says his new CD will mix old and new country sounds together. Clear As Day will also include Scotty&rsquo;s break-out single, &ldquo;I Love You This Big&rdquo;.&nbsp;&ldquo;I can&rsquo;t wait to get the new stuff out. If &lsquo;I Love You This Big&rsquo; is doing really good, I can&rsquo;t wait to get the new stuff.&nbsp; I&rsquo;m really excited about that.&rdquo;&nbsp;Lauren&rsquo;s <em>Wildflower</em> album includes her single, &ldquo;Like My Mother Does&rdquo; and she says the project as a whole has a &ldquo;flavor for everybody.&rdquo; Scotty and Lauren are currently on the road with the American Idols Live!     <span style=&quot;font-size: small;">A film crew followed &lsquo;American Idol&rsquo; winner Scotty McCreery around when he returned home to small town Garner, N.C. last month to perform. That&rsquo;s because the singer will be the subject of a documentary set to air on GAC in October. According to the News Observer, McCreery played Raleigh&rsquo;s RBC Center on July 27, where the crew interviewed him for &lsquo;Introducing: Scotty McCreery,&rsquo; a biographical series about on-the-rise country stars (which McCreery undoubtedly is). The crew also toured the &lsquo;I Love You This Big&rsquo; singer&rsquo;s hometown the next day.</span>
