5. Rod Wanted Elton And Freddy For Supergroup

<span style="font-size: small;">If Rod Stewart would have had his way, three very familiar faces would have formed a supergroup called Nose, Teeth & Hair. In his autobiography Rod: The Autobiography, the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer writes he once proposed forming a supergroup with pals Elton John and Freddie Mercury of Queen. He writes, “Elton and I spent a long evening…with Freddie Mercury, a sweet and funny man…discussing the possibility of the three of us forming a supergroup. The name we had in mind was Nose, Teeth & Hair, a tribute to each of our remarked-upon physical attributes. The general idea was that we could appear dressed like the Beverley Sisters. Somehow this project never came to anything.”

Freddie Mercury is a difficult guy to imitate. If you're going to be the singer in a tribute band, Queen is one of the toughest acts you can choose to honor. 21. Vintage Trouble aims for the imperfections

Vintage Trouble’s Ty Taylor had never been to a birthday party quite like this one. There he was on stage in London with Jeff Beck and the members of Queen. The occasion was a celebration of what would have been the late Freddy Mercury’s 65th birthday in 2011. And playing the role of Mercury was none other than Taylor, the singer in a Los Angeles bar band with some very colorful spandex tights to fill.
