  1. Adam Lambert celebrates his birthday -- and the Grammys -- in style

    Idol Tracker
If there were an award for busiest non-performer or presenter on Grammy night, it might have to go to Adam Lambert. Last year's "American Idol" runner-up spent most of his time on Sunday's red carpet working it, as the special fashion correspondent for...

  3. Catching up with Season 8's Alexis Grace

    Idol Tracker
One of the funniest moments on the Grammy Awards red carpet was when a feisty Alexis Grace walked up to the TV Guide Network cameras and essentially insisted they interview her! Pretty presumptuous for someone who didn't make the Top 10 last season,...

  5. Don't let anyone say the Grammys don't have an impact

    Pop & Hiss
As a promotional showcase, the Grammy Awards remain a force. Early results from Nielsen SoundScan show that artists who performed on the CBS telecast are experiencing a relatively major sales boost. With just a couple days of sales tracking, artists......

  7. How to improve the Super Bowl halftime show: Make it a competition

    Pop & Hiss
It's been a couple of days since the Saints told the Colts "Who Dat!" New Orleans has drunk its round of recovery Bloody Marys. Peyton Manning has had time to crawl into his Snuggie and contemplate his missteps (and missed......

  9. On the charts: Grammy artists, the Who see increases; Lil Wayne bombs

    Pop & Hiss
A little TV exposure continues to go a long way. Country trio Lady Antebellum tops the chart for the second straight week, leading in a week that saw big increases for acts that appeared on the Jan. 31 Grammy Awards.......

  11. Pop divas take center stage at the Grammys

    Comments Blog
It was without a doubt ladies' night at Sunday's Grammy Awards. The three-plus hour telecast was largely promoted with a much-ballyhooed 3-D Michael Jackson tribute, that was yawn inducing compared with show-stopping performances from a hair swinging...

  15. Are the Oscars ready to swap their stuffed shirt for a shapely thong?

    The Big Picture
The best thing that you can say about today's Oscar best picture nominations is that, thanks to "Avatar," millions of casual American moviegoers--the kind of folks who load up on popcorn and candy, bring a carload of kids and wouldn't......

  17. Hollywood glamour catches on at Grammys

THE red carpet at the 50th Annual Grammy Awards threw into sharp relief just how safe female musicians are required to play it these days. The steady stream of jewel-toned gowns, softly waved tresses and unremarkable diamond baubles was eerily similar to the red carpet scene at the Screen Actors Guild Awards a few weeks ago. Since when did pop and rock stars start dressing like actresses?

  19. Pants? Who needs pants?

YOU KNOW the old fashion adage about taking off one thing before you leave the house to streamline your outfit? Soon it might not be a busy brooch or pair of dangling earrings that gets the toss. You might be ditching your pants.

  21. MTV VMAs keep the pop machine fed

At one point during the Sunday night broadcast of the 25th annual MTV Music Awards, the action apparently switched from Paramount Pictures to the Whisky a Go-Go on the Sunset Strip, where the rock band Paramore's performance was inciting a riot. Not really, though: Singer Hayley Williams and her boys were ripping it up in a simulated nightclub directly adjacent to the award ceremony's main stage. "Nothing is as it seems," said the night's host, the comic Russell Brand. Get it? Just like in the movies!
