  5. Townshend Walks Off Stage During Tour Opener

    <span style=&quot;font-size: small;">Forget &ldquo;who are you?&rsquo; &ndash; Roger Daltrey and the other members of The Who were asking Pete Townshend&ldquo; where are you?&rdquo; after the guitarist unexpectedly walked offstage during the encore of Friday night&rsquo;s opening show of their Quadrophenia and More tour in Sunrise, FL. Townshend left the stage during &ldquo;You Better You Bet,&rdquo; appearing to be pissed about the excessive volume coming out of the sound monitors. The group soldiered on without Townshend, closing the show with &ldquo;Baba O&rsquo;Riley.&rdquo; Townshend&rsquo;s brother and bandmate Simon later tweeted, &ldquo;Pete walked off tonight because it was too loud. Was a good show but had some technical problems.&rdquo;</span>

  11. The Who Announces North American Tour

    <span style=&quot;font-size: small;">Rock and Roll Hall of Famers Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend of The Who held an online press conference to announce a North American tour in which they will perform Quadrophenia in its entirety and, according to Townshend, &ldquo;the old chestnuts&hellip;we&rsquo;ll wheel out the old favorites&rdquo; as well. The first leg of the trek will get underway November 1st. Members of The Who fan club can purchase tickets starting tomorrow and the general public can grab their tickets starting July 27.
