With 39 studio albums and 89 singles under his belt buckle, the legend has solidified his place in country music history. Rather than rest easy in the enormous success of his career thus far, “King George” headed back into the studio for more, thanks to the urging of his son Bubba, who co-wrote the album’s 11 tracks. “It was mainly Bubba’s influence. He decided that he wanted to write and he wanted to get me involved in it. The Band Perry picked up a nomination in the all-genre Best New Artist category and performed the song “Independence” from their self-titled debut album.
