![<span style="font-size: small;">Alan Jackson and Garth Brooks are among the elite who will be inducted into the <em>Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame</em> this fall. Alan, who has written or co-written 24 of his 35 #1 singles, says song ideas can come to him from anywhere! <em>“I’ve heard ‘em in dialogue in movies or in a magazine ad or billboard or…and then, some of them just come clean out of thin air. Just, all the sudden you’re hummin’ this melody and this hook just pops up there [laughs]. It’s pretty strange.”</em> Alan and Garth join hit songwriters John Bettis, Thom Schuyler and Allen Shamblin as this year’s inductees. They’ll be recognized during a dinner and induction ceremony held October 16<sup>th</sup> in Nashville. John Bettis is credited for writing songs such as George Strait’s “Heartland” and the theme song to the 1980’s show, <em>Growing Pains</em>. Thom Schuyler has written songs for Randy Travis, Clint Black and LeAnn Rimes among others. Lady and Gentlemen includes current single “Give” as well as numerous classic country covers ranging from George Jones’ “He Stopped Loving Her Today” to Kris Kristofferson’s “Help Me Make it Through the Night.” “‘Only Daddy That’ll Walk the Line,’ is now ‘Only Mama That’ll Walk the Line.’ Umm, [laughs] some of the songs that we changed, obviously, you could and it made sense, and some of them we just left because we paid homage to the song.
