On Friday, Grammy-nominated jazz organist and Hartford native Brian Charette plays a hometown gig at Black-eyed Sally's, just before his new funk-soul-groove album for SteepleChase Records comes out (preview it at kungfugue.com). As a sideman, Charette's worked with Joni Mitchell, Chaka Khan, Rufus Wainwright, Michael Buble and many others. But it's probably best to hear him doing his own thing.
