    Pop & Hiss
During the 1960s and early '70s, as such rock royalty as Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin and the Rolling Stones burned up the charts, a prominent set of women played a key, but quiet, role in the proceedings. They were the......

  5. Barney's Beanery rocks on at 90

It's a story so revolting and so legendary that it has achieved near mythical status. One night in the 1960s, during a particularly heavy bout of drinking, Jim Morrison stood up and urinated on the long wooden bar at Barney's Beanery in West Hollywood. Rock god status and titillating snug leather pants or not, Morrison was booted from the famous restaurant and bar.

  7. Book review: 'LZ-'75: The Lost Chronicles of Led Zeppelin's 1975 American Tour'

Why did Stephen Davis write <b>&quot;LZ-'75: The Lost Chronicles of Led Zeppelin's 1975 American Tour"</b> (Gotham: 218 pp., $22.50)? He's already the author of the band biography "Hammer of the Gods"; what more does he need to say? One reason, he explains here, is his rediscovery of old notebooks from his travels with the band: He just couldn't resist telling a few more fables of excess.

  9. Audi A8 review: This V-8 lightweight proves its mettle

Though you may not think of aluminum as a precious metal as you would gold, silver or platinum, the metal certainly had its heyday. Once scarce and valuable, it was prized by Napoleon III, shown at the Paris Exposition in 1855 and chosen to cap the Washington Monument in 1884.
