3. Robert Plant Led Zep Reunion Tease

<span style="font-size: small;">Robert Plant has teased fans by hinting that he might be open to a Led Zeppelin reunion in 2014.And he says the band were over several years before the death of John Bonham brought their career to an end in 1980. Followers believed more tours and even new music might be on the cards when Led Zep played a one-off show featuring Jason Bonham in 2007, released last year as Celebration Day. But the singer refused to take part, leaving Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones to return to their own musical careers. However, Plant insists he’s not entirely responsible for the band’s lack of activity. He tells Australia’s 60 Minutes: “The two other guys are Capricorns. They don’t say a word. They’re quite contained in their own worlds and they leave it to me… I’m not the bad guy. “You need to see the Capricorns – I’ve got nothing to do in 2014.” He lost five-year-old son Karac in 1977 while Led Zep were on tour and the tragedy led him to plan a career beyond the band until Bonham coerced him into coming back. “I was very sceptical about thinking about whether I had the right to be a parent and go back into that world,” says the singer. “When I lost our boy I applied to see if I could get a role as a teacher. I wanted to be around, a way to enjoy children at the peak of the time before they’re spoilt by the ways of our world. “I always thought, ‘There’s another thing I can do.’ I was detached. I’d left it. But it’s a terrible drug being a good singer.

  5. Led Zep Trades Liners With Letterman

<span style="font-size: small;">Robert Plant, Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones of Led Zeppelin and CBS’ Late Show host David Letterman swapped one-liners last night during the band’s very rare joint appearance on late-night television. Early in the interview, Letterman asked his fellow Kennedy Center Honorees if they’d ever received a comparable award in the UK and all three in unison simply said “No!” Laughs ensured, and later Letterman asked the band about the influence Buddy Guy (another freshly minted Kennedy Center Honoree) and other bluesmen had on Led Zeppelin’s sound. Page said Guy, Sonny Boy Williamson, Muddy Waters and other legendary bluesman had a huge influence on his and Jeff Beck’s playing. Meanwhile, Plant added Gene Vincent, Eddie Cochraneand Elvis Presley’s names into the early influence conversation, recalling the one time the band met “The King,” saying, “Elvis had a lot of chicks.” Letterman immediately quipped, “That’s something you all had in common.” Finally, Letterman expressed how cool it was to have been able to hang out and get to know the three of them as part of the entire Kennedy Center Honors celebration, and jokingly added, “I feel like I ought to be in the band, don’t you think?” A deadpan Jones quickly replied, “No!” See some of the interview here.

  7. Led Zep "Black Dog" Reunion Release

<span style="font-size: small;">Led Zeppelin have unleashed their performance of Black Dog from their Celebration Day movie, shot at their 2007 reunion concert. View it here. Guitarist Jimmy Page has recorded an interview with the BBC’s Jools Holland, in which he admits he’d love to do more work with Robert Plant, John Paul Jones and Jason Bonham. He says: “We’re almost two years after the O2 concert. I must say I thought there might be some other kind of get-together for some reason or another. "But as the years tick by – one year, two years, three years, four years, now almost five years – it doesn’t look very likely, does it?” He reserved special praise for original drummer John Bonham’s son. “By my estimation he had the hardest job of anybody there,” he says. “We put a lot of rehearsal into it. The whole energy that Jason had all the way through was just phenomenal.” Celebration Day is released on DVD and Blu-ray on November 19.

  9. Jimmy Turns The Page

Anticipation is building for the worldwide theatrical premiere of the Led Zeppelin reunion concert film Celebration Day on October 17 and the release of the film on several audio and visual formats on November 19. But according to guitarist Jimmy Page, fans should not anticipate another reunion with himself, Robert Plant and John Paul Jones. In the October 25 issue of Rolling Stone, Page says, “I think if there had been any more concerts to be done, we’d already be talking about them. So I don’t see it,” adding that Celebration Day “is a testament to what we did in 2007. There it is.”
