1. Taylor Talks Notre Dame Visit In Special

In an upcoming E! Network special on pop star Selena Gomez, her BFF Taylor Swift tells the story of their recent visit to a huge college campus! When the two went to visit Taylor’s brother at the University of Notre Dame last fall, they hoped to fly under the radar and “fit in” as regular, everyday college students. According to OK! Magazine Taylor says, “We’re like wearing the Notre Dame jacket and the Notre Dame visor and we learned that’s not how you fit in at college, evidently.” She said at one point they had to call campus security due to the large groups of people who were following them around. Swift and Gomez wrapped up their day at college by taking in a football game and dinner at a local pizza joint.

  5. Romantic getaways

Berlin: Put Berlin next to Paris and you have both sides of the coin: romance, which occasionally appeals, and eros, which never fails. "Berlin is sexy," said the German capital's openly gay Mayor Klaus Wowereit, and it's been that way since the iniquitous Weimar Republic of Marlene Dietrich and cabaret, when only verboten was a naughty word. Recent influxes of German hipsters and clued-in foreigners are (as the song says) "Falling in Love Again (Can't Help It)" with Berlin's outré art scene, drinking in all-night bars where mind-numbing absinthe is the poison of choice, and dressing in provocative Weimar styles for Bohème Sauvage, an on-going series of nightclub parties with dancing to hot jazz, backroom poker and floor shows featuring scantily clad performers of undetermined sex.

  13. Dennis Farina helps kick off Chicago International Film Festival

The Chicago International Film Festival didn’t have to look far when choosing a movie to kick off its 47th annual edition. “The Last Rites of Joe May” — starring Dennis Farina as an aging con man with little to his name besides debt — was filmed in Chicago’s West Town neighborhood in late 2009 and made in association with Chicago’s Steppenwolf Films.

  21. Interview: An evening with Kerry Wood at the barber shop

Before making the final media rounds to promote his <a href="http://mlb.mlb.com/players/woodfamilyfoundation/events.jsp">“Woody’s Winter Warm-Up” benefit, the Cubs’ Kerry Wood stood in the waiting area of the posh 316 Club Barber Spa last week — where he would receive a haircut and shave — and gave me a reality check on his famous 20-strikeout performance. The 34-year-old pitcher pointed out that his record-tying outing that felt like it wasn’t that long ago was actually much longer ago than I thought: 14 years ago, to be exact.
