3. Jersey Governor Weeps After Meeting Springsteen

In yet another case of politics making strange bedfellows, Republican New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, the man who delivered the keynote address for Mitt Romney at the Republican National Convention, was driven to tears after meeting and hugging his lifelong hero, Bruce Springsteen, an ardent supporter of President Barack Obama and a sometime critic of Christie. Of course what brought these two together was the common goal of helping their fellow New Jersey residents struggling to rebuild in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy. Gov. Christie told a group of volunteers “that the hug was great and that when we got home there was a lot of weeping because of the hug.”

Political partisanship aside, New Jersey Governor Chris Christie is a devout Bruce Springsteen fan, tellingJimmy Fallon Tuesday night he just saw the Boss in concert for the 130th time. 11. The Boss Approves Church's Springsteen

Eric Church got a stamp of approval on his single “Springsteen” from The Boss himself, Bruce Springsteen. A couple of guys from Springsteen’s camp approached Eric at one of his tour stops with a gift from the rock icon, a set list from one of his recent shows with a personal handwritten letter on the back. Eric told Billboard that Bruce told him in the letter that he and his family fans of the song and signed it, “I hope we cross paths somewhere.” As for the note from The Boss, Eric says it’s “locked up” somewhere safe.

  13. Sir Paul and The Boss Duet - Cops Pull Plug

London police came calling during the historic once-in-a-lifetime performance by Bruce Springsteen and Paul McCartney at the Hard Rock Calling festival in Hyde Park. The Boss introduced his very special friend, saying, “I’ve been trying to do this for 50 years.” The former Beatle then appeared onstage and the two Rock and Roll Hall of Famers launched into the Fab Four classic “I Saw Her Standing There” followed by a rousing version of “Twist and Shout.” And then, at 10:40 local time, the powers that be pulled the plug and the power was turned off, much to the chagrin of the 65,000 in attendance who were witnessing rock history being made. See video here.

  17. Little Steven Says "The Boss" Is In Good Shape

Much has made about the marathon shows Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band have been playing during their European tour, and many wonder how at 62 years old, the Boss is able to maintain his Herculean strength and stamina. In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, longtime guitarist Steven Van Zandt gave his theory on how Springsteen maintains the spring in his step, saying, “He’s in good shape by not doing drugs. He’s a living example of what happens when you never do drugs your whole life. Don’t do drugs. Don’t drink, eat right, go to the gym and you can rock & roll at 62, too. It isn’t rocket science. This is real old fashioned common sense.”
