1. First look: 'Dark Knight Rises' poster

As we wait (im)patiently for Christopher Nolan's "The Dark Knight Rises" to finish filming already so we can all drool all over it, a teaser poster for the film has made its way on the internets.
As we wait (im)patiently for Christopher Nolan's "The Dark Knight Rises" to finish filming already so we can all drool all over it, a teaser poster for the film has made its way on the internets. Looks cool, no? And sort of "Inception"-y. And looks...

13. The Flowers of War

I would much rather have a film give us a fictional story surrounding a real event, then a movie that is made “based” on a real person or event and makes up 75% of what is on the screen. Ron Howard is the king of giving us stories about real people that completely fictionalize what is on the screen.

15. Upcoming Movies in 2012

When I was asked to come up with movies I was looking forward to in 2012, I was first at a loss. As a critic, I find it a lot of fun to do lists of the best/worst of the previous years; but we try not to watch too many trailers. They give away key plot points and most times at screenings, we’re lucky they don’t show them.

21. 'Flowers of War' goes truly global

In a globalized age, Chinese and American pop culture mix in unexpected ways. Taiwanese singers borrow from hip-hop and R&B. Locked-out NBA players join mainland basketball teams. And Batman — or, at least, the man who plays him — is called upon to complete an unlikely mission: save scores of Nanjing women from brutal Japanese soldiers.
