5. 'Girls' creator Lena Dunham unamused by porn parody

"Girls," HBO's critically acclaimed and controversial comedy series about the lives of twentysomethings in Brooklyn, tackles a number of issues with brutal frankness and sometimes uncomfortable realism. Sex is one of those issues, and the show has raised eyebrows with a number of graphic sex scenes. So it's not really surprising that "Girls" is the latest show to get a XXX pornographic parody. And series creator and star Lena Dunham isn't amused by it.

  15. The Gold Standard: It's time for Emmy to surprise us

Backstage at the Emmys last year, reporters were squirming — and not just because of the ill-fitting rental tuxes and too-tight gowns. As "Modern Family" rolled to its third straight Emmy win for comedy series (after earlier pulling in prizes for supporting actor and actress and directing), the usual air of ennui seeped into the press room. Bring us fresh faces! Bring us the excitement of the new! And, while you're at it, three more servings of that delicious chocolate mousse! (There's a reason thoses tuxes pinch at the waistband.)

  23. Review: Darcy James Argue's Secret Society taps into Brooklyn

What does Brooklyn sound like? While the fashionably clad, underemployed youth of Lena Dunham's "Girls" may spring to mind given the New York City borough's pop cultural footprint, bandleader Darcy James Argue paints a broader picture of a time and place than any TV series could hope.
