1. Savages

This movie is all over the map (literally and figuratively). It was fun hearing all the San Diego locations mentioned and in that regard, I thought of the other movie like this I didn’t care for – Traffic. That film also dealt with a woman taking over her husbands drug business (this time it’s the Salma Hayek, sporting a Cleopatra style wig).

7. Reel Critics: Oliver Stone's 'Savages' twists and thrills

I was going to review of Woody Allen's "To Rome with Love," but why waste your time? Except for the scenery, it's a major disappointment. Oliver Stone's pulpy, ferocious thriller"Savages" makes greed good and exciting.

*1/2 (out of four)
*1/2 (out of four) Meetings between a troubled child and the fairy godmother who lends a hand don’t get much more woeful than sassy, redheaded Glenda (Blake Lively) nearly urinating on 13-year-old Luli (Chloe Grace Moretz of “Dark Shadows&...

17. Actresses' talent wasted in creepy, perverted 'Hick' ✭ 1/2

Directed by Derick Martini from a screenplay adapted by Andrea Portes from her own novel,"Hick" is part road movie and part coming-of-age story but mostly plays like some creepy-perv fantasia looking for mileage from the mature-beyond-her-years presence of young star Chloe Grace Moretz.

19. Hick

The most underrated movie in 2008 was Lymelife. Director Derick Martini took the father/son from that movie – Alec Baldwin and Rory Culkin – and put them in the story about a southern girl running away from home. Hearing that girl was Chloe Grace Moretz (Hugo, Kick-Ass), I was sure this would be the most underrated movie of this year. I was a bit let down.
