3. Parents guide

PAIN & GAIN 'Iron Man 3' Rating: PG-13 for sequences of intense sci-fi action and violence throughout, and brief suggestive content. Summary: A new villain, The Mandarin, and his minions are hurling super soldiers at America, and at Iron Man....

5. Review: 'The Big Wedding' aims its raunchiness at the AARP crowd

Don't be fooled into thinking that "The Big Wedding" is about the fetching young bride and groom. This is gross-out humor for the senior set.

7. 'The Big Wedding' Review: Ho-Hum Ceremony With a Lively All-Star Guest List

Reuters
Apr 26 (TheWrap.com) - If you were shying away from "The Big Wedding" because (a) it has the word "wedding" in the title; (b) the cast includes Katherine Heigl and/or (c) the cast also includes Robin Williams as a Catholic priest providing marriage...

9. 'Big Wedding' parts far greater than its whole ★★

The diversions in the ensemble comedy "The Big Wedding" (that title flat enough for you?) are strictly actor-related, which is usually the case at the movies. For example, the way Diane Keaton selects an asparagus spear at a country club buffet while delivering some dutiful expositional something or other. Or the rumpled panache with which Robert De Niro, playing the Keaton character's ex-husband, adapts to a different sort of role than he's used to playing: that of the unreliable horndog trying to get by on charm.

11. 'The Big Wedding' review: These aren't tears of joy

0.5 stars (out of four)
0.5 stars (out of four) A comedy that provokes only sadness, “The Big Wedding” features several stars that a casting agent would hire if trying to exact revenge on me personally. So no, I didn't go into “The Big Wedding” expecting...

OPENING FRIDAY The Big Wedding "Marriage is like a phone call late at night," Robert De Niro says, in dulcet voice-over mode, at the outset of "The Big Wedding." "First comes the ring, and then you wake up." Rim shot, please. Except in...

17. Word Games Obscure Real State Tax Debate

The Hartford Courant
With lawmakers set to trudge into Hartford next week for a holiday special session to plug this year's state budget hole, it's a safe bet that Gov. Dannel P. Malloy wishes he hadn't said two weeks ago that he would avoid raising taxes to solve the crisis....

19. State Fiscal Crisis Needs Sex Appeal

The Hartford Courant
We have some kind of looming fiscal crisis here in Connecticut, but I don't know much about it because a) it is not a cliff and b) it is not as interesting as other things I could conceivably know about. On the first point, I blame whoever started...

21. Film review: Tune out 'The Words'

The TV ads for “The Words” suggest a thriller, which it is definitely not. In ways, that's a relief, since the summer releases included enough thrillers to hold me until the cows come home. Still, beware: This debut feature from writing/directing team Brian Klugman and Lee Sternthal is really a Nicholas Sparks-style romance, with a dubious overlay of narrative trickery.

OPENING FRIDAY
OPENING FRIDAY The Words "ENMV0002364">"The Words" is, as its name suggests, a wordy melodrama about a young writer, Rory Jansen (Bradley Cooper), who finishes his first novel, three years in the making — which is promptly rejected. Then he...
