  7. Falling Tree Kills Man in Tent in Dauphin County

    A man is dead after being crushed by a tree when it fell on top of his tent in Dauphin County. It happened just before 6 a.m. on private property along Mclean Road in East Hanover Township. State Police say the male victim was camping with a large group of people when the accident happened. A woman was also inside the tent when the tree fell. The female was taken to Hershey Medical Center with injuries to her head and the male victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

    Hurricane Irene has finally blown through the northeast leaving a path of death and destruction.  Twenty-one people are confirmed dead from the storm and over four million people are in the dark.  Thousands in Central Pennsylvania are still without power.

    After this weekend's storm, several families in York County are still without power. In the city a tree fell on wires. As a result several homes on Mason, King, and Royal streets lost electricity. Luckily, Monday afternoon the tree was removed. However, power is not expected to be restored until this weekend.

    The Eagles have a new 100 Million Dollar Man at quarterback, Michael Vick.   Vick is the unquestioned leader in Philadelphia and today he cashes in with the brand new six-year deal.   40 million dollars of the contract is guaranteed for Vick.   The Eagles are hoping a Super Bowl title is included in the deal.   The team has signed a half-dozen former Pro Bowl players in free agency so expectations are sky high for this team.

    Rarely do true golfers need extra incentive to hit the links.  But this Labor Day weekend, playing a round could benefit the children of our American heroes.  Patriot Golf Day runs from September 2 to September 5.  It is a nationwide program where players can donate at least a dollar to on to the price of a greens fee and raise money for the Folds of Honor Foundation.

In a very close vote, Columbia at Eastern York edged out Milton Hershey vs. Hershey to earn the honors for this season's first show.    The river rivals combined forces to log 2,261 votes to 2,103 for Milton Hershey-Hershey.

    This Sunday will mark the tenth anniversary of the 9/11 attacks.  Shanksville, Pennsylvania is now entrenched in everyone's minds after the crash of Flight 93.
