    The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People has been around for just over a century. Today members of the Roanoke NAACP welcomed a special guest for their annual banquet and fundraiser. Appalachian Power President and CEO Charles Patton was on-hand for the event. He says the NAACP plays an important role when it comes to fighting for justice for all races- not just African-Americans.This was his first time addressing the Roanoke chapter. Patton praised Roanoke NAACP President Brenda Hale for her role in promoting civil rights.
