1. Underwood & Hubby - Run-In With The Law

Carrie Underwood and husband Mike Fisher had a minor run-in with the law! After Carrie’s performance at the CMA Music Festival, Nashville police pulled the couple over for speeding according to Carrie’s Twitter feed. Mike was driving as Carrie rode shot-gun. It’s unclear if the two were ticketed, but Mike ironically tweeted earlier in the day about his two driving pet peeves - people who drive slowly in the fast lane and those who don’t creep into the middle of an intersection while waiting to turn left. Carrie made light of the incident as she later tweeted, “Ok…so, ‘Mr. I'm gonna star[t] a driving school in Nashville’ just got us pulled over for going 56 in a 45. Just sayin...”

  7. Hagar Off Hook For Lawsuit

A judge has dismissed a defamation lawsuit against Sammy Hagar filed by a woman who claims the Red Rocker fathered her child. U.S. District judge Linda Reade ruled Hagar did not defame the woman – known only as Jane Doe in court documents – when he accused her in his 2011 autobiography, Red: My Uncensored Life in Rock, of untruthfully naming him as her baby’s father in an attempt to extort money. The former Playboy bunny alleges she and Hagar had an affair in the 80s and she became pregnant.

  11. Reese Witherspoon talks arrest: 'I said crazy things'

Reese Witherspoon was arrested for disorderly conduct last month when she pulled a patented "Don't you know who I am?" routine at the site of her husband Jim Toth's DUI arrest. Thus began the wide-eyed starlet's PR rehab, since she had always seemed like such a nice celebrity, and not one who would play the "I'm famous" card with a police officer.

  13. Man Arrested For Taking Too Many Free Samples

Is gluttony against the law? A 68-year-old Minnesota man who was arrested for taking too many free samples from a supermarket has filed a civil rights lawsuit. Retiree Erwin Lingitz says the 2010 arrest violated his civil rights. Responding to the suit, Supervalu Inc. says Lingitz was a serial offender with a habit of helping himself lavishly to trays of free cookies put out for children. On the day of his arrest, he was found to have almost a pound of beef stick and more than half a pound of summer sausage in his pockets. Supervalu’s lawyer, Robyn Johnson, says the store manager “observed plaintiff filling plastic produce bags with the samples or with 10-20 cookies from the kids' cookie club tray, which specifically limits the offer to one free cookie per child." In 2011 a judge said the charges against Lingitz would be dropped if he avoided further legal trouble for a year. The case was dismissed in 2012. But not being one to let his meat loaf, Lingitz is now suing, claiming the food offered was free and as his wife told a local newspaper “you can’t arrest somebody for thievery if it’s free.”

  15. Judge Fines Himself For Contempt

A judge in Michigan broke his own rule! Judge Raymond Voet found himself in contempt of court after his own cellphone went off in the middle of a trial! During closing arguments, Voet accidentally tapped against the screen of his Windows smartphone, triggering its voice commands. "It started talking really loud, saying 'I can't understand you. Say something like Mom,'" the red-faced judge said. He insisted on treating himself the same as he would anyone else who violated the cell phone rule - he fined himself $25 for contempt of court. "If I cannot live by the rules that I enforce," Voet said, "then I have no business enforcing these rules." Seems fair to us!

  17. No Deal For Lindsay

Los Angeles prosecutors had a telephone meeting with Lindsay Lohan’s lawyer Mark Heller on Wednesday to discuss a plea deal in her lying-to-the-cops case, but no deal was made. Sources say prosecutors insisted that any agreement include a significant amount of time in a residential rehab facility, but Heller turned them down. TMZ claims prosecutors initially demanded LiLo spend 60 days in rehab, but eventually decreased it to 30, but Heller still didn’t budge. Apparently, Heller thinks the deal is a good one, but Lindsay doesn’t. She’s reportedly been telling friends she won’t accept “punishment for something I didn’t do.” If they can’t reach a deal, Lindsay’s case will go to trial March 18th.

  19. LINDSAY FIRES LAWYER

TMZ reported yesterday that Lindsay Lohan fired her longtime lawyer Shawn Holley, the same woman that has basically kept the Mean Girls star out of jail for years. According to sources, Linds hired attorney Mark Heller to represent her in her New York assault case, and then subsequently had him take over her legal issues in LA as well. Heller sent Holley a letter of termination yesterday, just one day before a scheduled hearing in Los Angeles regarding charges Lindsay lied to cops with regards to her summer car accident. Lindsay is now telling friends she never authorized him to do so, even though she signed the letter. She reportedly wants Holley back, and has instructed Heller to send another letter to Holley cancelling the first.
