19. Michael Mahalchick's NEW/NOW Exhibit on Display at the New Britain Museum of American Art Starting March 9

There are a number of ways to begin any artistic project. Michael Mahalchick, whose work is the focus of the upcoming NEW/NOW exhibit at the New Britain Museum of American Art came up with a novel approach: he canvassed the local community, asking for objects that he then examined, looking for connections between them. The exhibit, Here Today, Gone Tomorrow, leaves the contributed objects (pictured above), donated by over 40 participants, untouched, but arranged in such away to reveal the symbolic relationships between them. Mahalchick's work has been presented across the U.S. and abroad. Head to the opening reception on March 9 to hear the artist's take on the work.
