1. Column: Scowling face of the state

As soon as the Constitution permitted him to run for Congress, Al Salvi did. In 1986, just 26 and fresh from the University of Illinois law school, he sank $1,000 of his own money, which was most of his money, into his campaign to unseat an incumbent...

Although there appear to be pros and cons to this subject, the biggest con argument is that we are America. This should not be done here without major checks and balances, which at present are missing. Here are just a few of the questions that need...

  11. NSA controversy: Should James Clapper go or stay?

The revelation that the government has been acquiring vast quantities of telephone records of U.S. citizens has put a bull’s eye on the back of Edward Snowden, the former government contractor who has outed himself as the source of that information. But it also has led to calls for the resignation of the director of national intelligence, retired Air Force Gen. James R. Clapper, who is accused of lying to Congress about the electronic dragnet.

  17. Help, I'm no longer attracted to my partner!

I have been in a monogamous relationship for three years now. Our sex life has always been fun and adventurous. We have tried almost anything we could think of, Google or read about! For the last couple of months, I have felt a loss of sexual attraction to my partner. There is no doubt I love him and do not want to be with anyone else at this time, and he says he does not want to bother finding someone else either, but I do not know how to tell him I am not sexually attracted to him anymore. It is becoming a problem because he still has a ton of sexual energy left for our relationship and questions of infidelity are coming up. I do not know how much longer, "I'm really tired right now" or "I am not really in the mood" will last. I am lost at approaching this situation.--Show Me Something New

  21. Cicely Tyson wore a serious gown to the Tony Awards

When Cicely Tyson took to the stage Sunday to accept her Tony Award for lead actress in a play for her role in "The Trip to Bountiful," both men who were watching with me reacted — to her dress. The ultra-structured, purple-satin creation "looks like if you touched her, it would cut you," said one. "That's just weird," said the other. They aren't fashion critics, obviously. I think the word for the gown is "formidable," as in inspiring awe and wonder. Just like the actress. So far, I've seen nothing to indicate which designer was responsible. Er, deserves credit for the look. For full coverage of the Tonys, check out our Envelope blog.
