  1. Taylor And Zac - Couple?

<span style=&quot;font-size: small;"><a class="runtimeTopic" href="#">Taylor Swift</a> and Zac Efron visited The Ellen DeGeneres Show for their only interview together regarding their new film Dr. Seuss&rsquo; The Lorax. Ellen repeatedly joked that the two were a couple, since the tabloids won&rsquo;t seem to let go of the story. Taylor stressed she understands co-stars fall in love during filming but not&ldquo;animated movie co-stars.&rdquo; In fact, the two actually recorded their voiceovers on two different coasts. Zac also mentions he &ldquo;got his first guitar lesson from Taylor.&rdquo; The two played a song they made up for Ellen on the spot.</span>

  3. Taylor Talks Lorax

<span style=&quot;font-size: small;"><a class="runtimeTopic" href="#">Taylor Swift</a> sat down with NBC&rsquo;s Today show to discuss her upcoming Dr. Seuss&rsquo; film The Lorax, where she plays &ldquo;Audrey&rdquo; &ndash; one of the main characters. Taylor related to her part due to the fact she grew up on a Christmas tree farm, and her character is &ldquo;obsessed with nature and trees.&rdquo; The film also features Zac Efron, and when two major stars are featured in a film, dating rumors are sure to swirl &ndash; but Taylor is okay with that. She has come to terms with the fact that those things &ldquo;come along with the life she has chosen.&rdquo; As far as her view on life, she is in an &ldquo;adventurous faze right now where she enjoys going out by herself and seeing where the day leads.&rdquo; Taylor is currently carefully reading over scripts, but her main focus is her next album which is expected this year. The Lorax will hit theaters on Friday, March 2nd.</span>

  5. Maurice Sendak lit up dark corners of childhood

Not everything in childhood is bowls of mush and little old ladies whispering &quot;Hush," and Maurice Sendak understood that.
Not everything in childhood is bowls of mush and little old ladies whispering "Hush," and Maurice Sendak understood that. Our children understand that, too. Instinctively. That's what makes his books, like "Where the Wild Things Are" and "In the Night...

  9. South America's Charm Bracelet

Jerry V. Haines last wrote for the Travel section about Italy's Friuli region.
I had been trying for days to get a mental fix on Punta del Este, to figure out just which place it reminded me of. St. Bart's, I had thought at first, choosing the obvious connections of sun, sea and sand, and snippets from the press about which...

  11. Getting inventive for UCLA's NanoSystems Institute

UCLA's California NanoSystems Institute, or CNSI for short, is the first Los Angeles project by the New York-based architect Rafael Vi&#241;oly. It is something of a stealth building. Its broad, low fa&#231;ade, overlooking the Court of Sciences near the southern edge of the UCLA campus, has a modesty that borders on the bland.

  15. Biblioracle: A real fool for poetry

Tomorrow is my least favorite minor holiday, April Fools' Day. The Internet tells me that the origin of April 1 being a day for this sort of so-called merriment may be Chaucer's "The Canterbury Tales," a book-length collection of stories written in...

  17. San Francisco vs. San Diego: Which is the better getaway?

Every year, millions of people find themselves craving a vacation from greater Los Angeles. Many of these people don't want to cross state lines or climb mountains or contend with deserts, rivers, lakes, waterfalls, redwoods, Gold Country or Mickey Mouse. Which leaves them facing this question: San Francisco or San Diego?

  23. Five kids books for Passover

Perhaps more than any other Jewish festival, Passover is about telling stories. At the Seder, or ceremonial dinner, that takes place Monday on the first night of the holiday, Jews around the world will retell the biblical tale of the Israelites' escape from slavery in Egypt.
