  23. Alfonso (Alfee) Enciso Jr.

    Alfonso (Alfee) Enciso, Jr. beloved educator, administrator, coach, father, brother, son and husband passed away on May 31st, after a heart attack he suffered on May 11th.&nbsp;&nbsp; His unexpected death leaves all who knew him with overwhelming sadness, knowing that we will be without his passion, humor, and infectious enthusiasm for education and life.&nbsp; The freedom he found in his own education compelled him to challenge students, teachers, administrators to think critically, work hard and believe so they &ldquo;would not be denied&rdquo; their goals and dreams in life.&nbsp; He graduated from the University of California at Berkeley and earned his Masters in Administration Summa Cum Laude at Cal State Northridge. In addition, he was a National Board Certified teacher in English Language Arts, Secondary.&nbsp; For 28 years he was a pioneer in education and was working as an administrator at John Muir Middle School when he died.&nbsp; He is survived by his wife Gjenaii, children Nkosei and Kai, his mother Micky Enciso, 10 brothers and sisters, and many nieces and nephews who looked up to their &ldquo;Big Uncle Al&rdquo;.&nbsp; A memorial in his honor will be held on July 6<sup>th</sup> @ 11:00 am at St. Bernadette&rsquo;s church, 3825 Don Felipe Drive Los Angeles, California.
