  15. Tapes N Tapes Ignore Critics, Go Their Own Way

In the space of seven years and three albums, Tapes 'N Tapes has exemplified the complete life cycle of an indie band, somewhat like a simplistic chart explaining the short existence of a fruit fly. With TNT's self-released debut, 2005's The Loon, the band became a fully buzzed indie darling which led to a contract with major indie XL Recordings. XL reissued The Loon and then released TNT's sophomore album, 2008's much-maligned Walk It Off, its greatest sins seeming to be that it wasn't The Loon and that it had been debauched in the studio by producer Dave Fridmann.
