![<span style="font-size: small;">Over the past several weeks, Eric Church has been playing coast-to-coast on Toby Keith‘s Locked and Loaded tour, also featuring newcomer JT Hodges. Church is no stranger to paying his dues when it comes to touring and knowing what his fans have come to expect from him over the years. Johnny Mathis Dead At 80
![<span style="font-size: small;">Country Johnny Mathis was labeled such early in his career to distinguish himself from the rising pop-singer of the same name. While he didn’t enjoy nearly as much fame as the ‘Misty’ singer, he was still plenty influential until suffering a stroke in 1999. She’s playing the lead character in ‘Hart of Dixie’ on the CW, starring as a New York City doctor who is transplanted down south to Alabama. CMT reports that the show’s Monday night premiere was heavy on contemporary country music, given the series’ setting and all! Trace Adkins in 'The Healer'
![<span style="font-size: small;">Acting is nothing new to Trace Adkins. He appeared in The Lincoln Lawyer with Matthew McConaughey earlier this year, and next you’ll see him in the supernatural thriller, The Healer. The film tells the story of twins who become lost in the forest during a camping trip with their father. Trace will play “The Truck Driver,” who transports souls headed to Hades in a big rig from which there is no escape. While acting may seem like a stretch from singing, Trace says music videos prepared him for the job. “Uh, movies are just like music videos. You sit around and wait for ‘em to set up the next shot, and light it, and all that kind of stuff. However, there are a few younger artists he has learned to put up with around the house, and has even arranged for his daughters to meet. “Now I’ve been backstage at the Jonas Brothers, and the Cheetah Girls, and hell, everybody else. I’ve met all the rest—Jonas Brothers, did I say Jonas Brothers? Yeah. Throughout his career, Alan has written or co-written 24 of his 35 #1 hit singles. “It’s one of the coolest honors for me because I’ve always been more about the music, and I’ve always been especially proud to be able to be a writer and to have songs that affect people that they enjoy.
