McCreery's Story to Air
![<span style="font-size: small;">A film crew followed ‘American Idol’ winner Scotty McCreery around when he returned home to small town Garner, N.C. last month to perform. That’s because the singer will be the subject of a documentary set to air on GAC in October. According to the News Observer, McCreery played Raleigh’s RBC Center on July 27, where the crew interviewed him for ‘Introducing: Scotty McCreery,’ a biographical series about on-the-rise country stars (which McCreery undoubtedly is). New Vassar Album of New Flavors
![<span style="font-size: small;">Phil Vassar is back on the country music radar with his new single, ‘Let’s Get Together,’ which is the first release from his forthcoming full-length album on his new independent label, Rodeowave Entertainment. 'Hell On Heels' Debuts
![<span style="font-size: small;"> Miranda Lambert’s Pistol Annies are celebrating the release of their debut album <em>Hell on Heels</em> today. Friends Miranda, Angeleena Presley and Ashley Monroe have long been fans of each other’s music, which is exactly how Miranda knew they were the perfect bandmates. “<em>Sittin’ on the couch, I’m at my farm in Oklahoma, Ashley and I were writin’ songs, and we wrote a couple songs that are now on the record that sort of sparked this idea of bein’ in a girl band. Called Ang — and she had introduced me to Angaleena’s music — and just loved it…fell in love with it. She shared the news with fans through Twitter and even showed off a few pics from the set. Reba loves to tweet, but tries not to go overboard. <em>“A long time ago you were like 'Oh, let's not get over-saturated. Let's not over-saturate the public with all the stuff that's going on. Be a little mysterious.' And now, I mean, you're telling people when you're going to brush your teeth. I don't think the fans can get enough information.”</em> Reba recently answered fan questions on Twitter, admitting that she loves the books, “Water for Elephants” and “The Help.” She also said her new tour includes a brand new stage and new costumes and she<em> “can’t wait” </em>for fans to see it. Urban Meets Jackson in "Mercury Blues"
![<span style="line-height: 150%; font-family: 'Arial','sans-serif'; font-size: small;">Before Keith Urban was swapping guitar licks with Brad Paisley and John Mayer, he was just a regular Joe trying to make it on Music Row. One of his first jobs was appearing in Alan Jackson’s music video for “Mercury Blues,” but it wasn’t quite what he expected. “<em>The video shoot, it was quite weird</em>,” Keith told <em>AT&T Samsung</em>. “<em>It’s 1994, I’m nobody, ya know, just like this scrawny, long-haired Aussie kid, been in town two years</em>.” Keith was thrilled when he found out that he’d be performing solo with the Georgia native, but when Alan, who Keith says is “<em>famously quiet</em>” came out, Keith didn’t get quite the reception he was expecting. “<em>He never said anything to me</em>,” Keith laughs off. “<em>I kept kinda waiting to introduce myself. He just sorta looked at me, and then, OK, back to the camera</em>.” It took several years for Keith to get the opportunity to actually ‘meet’ Alan, but there are no hard feelings.
